Good article. If it were the only thing I'd read about what has been going on in your life/lives, I would be moved...and, somehow, encouraged, to read a pastor being that straight-forward. People are going to be helped, blessed, by reading it.

Excellent writing by that author! Of course, we who visit get excellent writing every time! :)

Thank you for writing out your journey. When you do, it enables us, the believers, to pray for you (plural).

Your funny, great article as always, love the way you are able to express yourself into words! I didn't log onto your site for almost a week and wow I had a lot of catching up to do. Enjoy all your posts and was able to log into flickr for pics of Ali, she looks wonderful!

The Lord works in mysterious ways. I was so touched by your article and by the picture of Allie and her story. I pretty much spent all weekend catching up and reading all the blogs. My heart goes out to you and your family. You and your wife are amazing. In the midst of reading about your tradegy, I was comforted by your real faith. Though at times in your blog you questioned yourself, it was clear to me how the Lord built you and your family up so that when an emergency arose you could be the rock for your family. Allie is a true blessing and you and your wife are Allie's blessing. What a testimony of faith!
Now, for the real reason I feel that the Lord brought me to this article. It's for Charity. I feel her pain because I too was a mommy at 19 and lost my baby girl. Circumstances were different, but the pain wasn't. My daughter passed away of a cogenital heart disease and Allie's picture in the article hooked up to the machines is one that I too have of my little girl. I wish I could just extend my arms to wherever Charity is and hug her pain away, but I know that the healing process takes so much more. Charity can't see the hope right now because her world seems to be fogged up with the circumstances and the void, but as the fog clears and she continues to see Allie's progress and the love that has been poured unto her. She will understand how great God is and how He can make miracles from tradegy, built up and restore what was torn down, mend our broken hearts and give our life story a happy ending. Today, fifteen years later I can see clearer. The Lord blessed me with a loving husband and 2 beautiful boys. I am living testimony that after the storm comes the rainbow. I will continue to pray for Allie, Charming and beautiful Susan and you, but most of all I will pray that Charity does not loose sight of her rainbow. It is our Heavenly Father's promise.

In my prayers,
Cindy

Byron,
Your article was wonderful! The part about the grace being for the moment (not the past or future) is something I needed to be reminded of right at this very moment in our struggle with our prodigal son. It's been a teary weekend....but the tears have been fear based on the past or the future....thanks for the reminder the grace is for TODAY! :)
